Not what I expected

This is the first new trumpet I have owned, so at first when the valves frequently stuck I thought maybe they needed some time to "break in". However, after 4 months of frustration I still cannot play for 15 minutes without one or more valves dragging and sticking, in spite of being frequently oiled and cleaned. I am very dissatisfied with this trumpet. Right now I am thinking about filing a warranty claim.

I bought this trumpet for my marching band. It is terrible. The valves are impossible to deal with. They have to be oiled every 15 minutes in order for them to even move properly. The alignment between the valves and the valve containers is off and when you look at the valve from the mouthpiece view (while playing) you can tell the valve keys are at a 80 ish degree angle with the hole of the valve. They are not straight and will not go in properly sometimes. Do not buy this trumpet, your money is better spent on another.
A great horn for beginners, but inferior construction

Let me tell you this, first and foremost, if you are considering getting a student trumpet or you just want a horn to fiddle with at home, this is a fine purchase. It will meet all your needs and it has a nice tone. It hits the upper and lower register fine (for me anyway) and it projects wonderfully for quiet or loud performances.
On to the bad, the joints were not soldered too well, the valves are not numbered so if you take them out for cleaning and such it can be a little difficult getting them back in correctly, and (due to the soldering) spit will come out of the tuning slides solder joints.
You can tell that the horn is not really meant to be concert quality and I don't know exactly how long it will last someone who plays the instrument for extended periods of time very frequently, however, for the price it is a wonderful deal. If you have a child that is starting to learn and you are worried that they might not enjoy band or the instrument, I would definitely get them this horn. If they do love the instrument and decide to keep on playing in a band or on their own, you can always get a nicer one later on. |

I bought this for my son who's in middle school. We were renting a trumpet for 3 months and were due to return it, however, he still needed one. I couldn't find anything locally that wasn't an arm and a leg. This price is awesome! It lookd just as good if not better than the expensive one they wanted us to buy from the rental shop. It plays perfect, sounds great and I would suggest this for anyone! My son loves it...

This is a very good flute for the value. It sound's very nice and is smooth for playing. If you want to learn to play or you are short of cash this is a graet option.
