Easy for me to put together, nice price for suprisingly good quality drums. But the icing in the cake is that my grandson loves them and plays them hard all the time. They are durable to keep up with this guy. I was very happy with quality and price.

My son was fixated on getting drums for his birthday, "with a snare and a tom and a foot pedal, Mom!" These drums lit his face up. They were relatively easy to put together, but the directions weren't the best. They could have been much more specific. They sound great, though, and I find it hard to walk by them without tapping them a few times myself. We're very happy with them.

I've been playing the drums for over 25 years and I couldn't wait to get my 1 year old son his first set of drums. I knew that I wanted to get him something he could enjoy for a few years...not a toy but a REAL set of drums that would last. More importantly I wanted to get him something that would sound and feel like real drums. The DeRosa kit is exactly that. These are not a toy! These are real wood shells with tunable drum heads! He absolutely loves them! I noticed that most of the reviews which were less than 5 stars were left by parents who had a difficult time understanding the directions or putting the kit together...this is perfectly understandable. If you are not a musician or have never assembled a drum kit it may seem a little difficult at first. But it seemed that once the kit was put together they were happy with it. We couldn't be happier with these drums!

THIS DRUM SET IS INCREDIBLE. IT'S QUALITY IS SO GOOD. THIS DRUM SET IS DEFINATELY NOT A TOY.... IT'S AN INSTRUMENT. I BOUGHT IT FOR MY GRANDSON AND HIM AND HIS COUSIN PLAY IT CONSTANTLY. IT'S BUILT WITH SOLID WOOD. I THINK IT WILL LAST THROUGH ALOT OF CHILDREN. THEY LOVE IT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SET. IF IT COSTS YOU $20. MORE THAN WHAT YOU REALLY WANTED TO SPEND IT WOULD BE WELL WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN.
