Every bass player should have one

| If you're a bass player you have got to have a stand. My bass is always at the ready for me to quickly grab and start playing. No more wrestling it in and out of the bag before and after practice. This stand is pretty sturdy and well suited for home use. The only issue I have is that the padded material covering the two bottom hooks started to break up right after I first started using the stand. It wasn't a big problem. I wrapped some soft cloth around the hooks and secured it with a few rubber bands - problem solved. |
Decent but not for high-traffic areas

I have this Cello stand and I like it because it allows me to keep my cello out. This, in turn, makes it easy to just pick it up and play when you have a few minutes to spare.
My luthier uses this type of stand in his shop to display the stand and a cello and he did come in one morning to find that the cleaning staff had actually tipped over the cello while it was in the stand (and wound up causing a fair amount of damage as a result). Granted, it had to have been a fairly good bump but it is not as secure as the solid wood box stands (however, it doesn't cost as much, either)
While the cello is fairly secure in the stand, it is not recommended for high-traffic areas where you have 70-pound dogs, kids, etc who can bump into it. |

| We bought this for our son's 3/4 size cello. It is well made and easy to use (and set-up). Not having to mess with the gig bag that came with the cello is making our son happy. I would have preferred a different color for the metal, but that is a minor complaint. |
