A fun gift

The music and the recorder are fun gifts--I actually purchased it for my husband. We are going to surprise our grandson over the phone with some of the tunes. The recorder is a decent quality for the money. It's just fun.
Easy music.

This is a recorder, similar to a flute. Being a huge Harry Potter fan I plan to sit on my porch and play my flute like Hagrid this summer. This was fairly easy to learn to play if you have studied music earlier in life, otherwise it would be a little difficult to play, but with a little effort and concentration you can do it.The music that comes with it is good too.
Fun gift but surprise color!

I bought one for my 9 year old son, just be careful because the color shown is not the color you get! I got a transparent red one. I also bought a recorder for my 3 year old nephew because he wanted a wind instrument. It is a fun gift because it is not difficult to make noise and they can learn to play it later. It is good for all ages.

The included recorder has pretty good sound for a plastic toy: way better than the several other cheap plastic recorders we have owned. The book has a great note chart that shows you how to play any note the recorder is capable of making--that has been really useful. There are a couple of very easy songs (non-Harry Potter) at the beginning. The songs are a little bit challenging. This is not a book that teaches you how to play; there is no progression of the songs, just a selection from the movies. Great fun.
Great For Those With No Musical Ability That Haven't Ever Picked A Instroment Up In their life

This is a wonderful bargin, however it falls short just of that final note even if you know some things about music you will never want to play the Hogwarts Theme Music again after you buy this book. Learn the recorder and drive up the vollume and blast out your eardrums while you do so. That is what music is all about practice makes perfect, however this book is so presise that it makes you feel like an idiot. Its great for children who can afford to chuck the recorder at Mommy or Daddy, however its really bad for adults.
